Roughly 3km east of Bidar is Ashtur, the resting place of the Bahmani dynasty.  The tomb complex consists of are around 12 large impressive mausoleums that have arches, niches and huge domes. Among all the tombs, the tomb of Ahmad Shah-al-Wali is popular.  The walls of the tomb are also decorated with beautiful paintings and inscribed with Quran verses. The graves are draped in satin and regularly prayed in.

One of the tombs was struck by lightning and it has reduced the tomb to nearly half of its original size. There are some cracks that seem to suggest more damage is imminent.
