Travel – something that lets us take a break from our daily grind and push us out of our comfort zone. Its a healthy exercise, once in a while.

An independent photographer based out of Hyderabad, India, Lakshmi seeks to understand the world, to observe how things actually are and how they are perceived. She treats her subjects with sensitivity and attempts to capture the essence and spirit of the place or person. She is drawn to street photography, where she believes she has an opportunity to observe life and if lucky try to catch it while it is happening. Her tryst with writing is rather recent, starting mainly to accompany the images; it has grown steadily adding context as well as information to the visuals.

Lakshmi has had her works exhibited in solo as well as group exhibits in the past few years. Her works have appeared in many popular coffee table tops and lifestyle/travel magazines. Her photographs appear in a book titled “HydandSeek : a visual tribute to Hyderabad” published by BluePencil in 2015.  She also maintains a blog on the city of Hyderabad and documents her travels at this site.
